Abstract

This study aims to produce e-modules based on South Sumatra local wisdom in writing short story texts that are in accordance with needs analysis, validation, practicality, and effectiveness. This is R&D research whose procedures consist of needs analysis, prototype development, prototype revision, small group trials, product revision, and field trials. The subjects were 60 students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya and two Indonesian language teachers. Data collection used questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Questionnaires were used to obtain data for needs analysis, validation test and practicality testing; interviews with teachers on needs analysis, and tests were used for effectiveness testing. The results of this study show that a learning e-module containing procedures for writing short story texts based on South Sumatra local wisdom has been created. The e-module has met the criteria of needs analysis, a validation test with a percentage of 81.93% (valid), a practicality test with a percentage of 93.4% (very practical), and an effectiveness test based on pretest-posttest results. Significant improvement from pretest to posttest is seen in 2-tailed results (0.000 <0.05). E-modules are expected to have implications as one of the teaching materials to improve short story text writing skills.
