Abstract

Limestones is a main material for making of cement vvhich process of production had noticed, especially limestones reduction process in Limestone Cruhset Unit at PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero), Tbk to increase quantity of crushed limestone production. Reduction process uses Hammer Crusher which has an installed capacity of 650 ton/hour and reduction product has a maximum size of 120 mm (also called fine product). Product of limestones reduction had transported by series of Inclined Belt Conveyor and Moveable Belt Conveyor to stockpile I and stockpile II and furthermore to Vertical Raw Mill (VRM) to mix and grind as a raw meal with other materials. VRM Vibration ffom January to March 2014 has scored attain up to 14 mm/s. This case showed the VRM vibration problem has happened by product size of > 120mm (also called coarse product) entry to VRM in amount of > 1% from total of production. Therefore, quality of reduction analysis is need to do to find the number of coarse product production. Analysis has done by sampling method where sample is taken on belt conveyor (15-BC-02). Sampel is taken by shovel as many of 3 times and every 60 minutes. The result that an amount of sample is 323.652 gram from 72 samples which is gotten during April 2014 and a total of production during April 2014 is 85.998 ton. After calculation and analysis are done, it knows that result of the coarse product as 8,82% or 7.585.02 ton ffom total of production. And then, value of real reduction ratio (RR) is 5,5 (for maximum linier size). This result showed that grate basket and hammer had working down condition. It was caused by bent and attrition from them. Nowadays, the way which could do is repair of grate basket and hammer to optimize back work of hammer crusher. However, another efficient and optimum alternative to separate between fine product and coarse product is to installing of screener in belt conveyor series (15-BC-02).
