Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecenderungan siswa kelas VIII dalam mengerjakan soal matematika biasa versus soal berbentuk wacana. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.3 MTs Al-Ittifaqiah 2 Indralaya yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis, wawancara dan angket terbuka. Prosedur dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan deskripsi hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII.3 MTs Al-Ittifaqiah 2 Indralaya cenderung memilih soal berbentuk wacana untuk dikerjakan. Hal ini dikarenakan pada umumnya soal SPLDV yang sering diberikan oleh guru di kelas VIII.3 berbentuk wacana. Selain itu, menurut pandangan siswa soal berbentuk wacana juga lebih menarik dan lebih bermanfaat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
