Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) Analyzing the marketing channels that occur for pineapple commodities from farmers to final consumers in Karang Jaya Village, East Prabumulih District, Prabumulih City. (2) Knowing the marketing margin and level of marketing efficiency for pineapples in Karang Jaya Village, East Prabumulih District, Prabumulih City. (3) Calculate the income received by pineapple farmers in Karang Jaya Village, East Prabumulih District, Prabumulih City. Data collection in this research was carried out in December 2023. The research method used was a survey method with the help of a tool in the form of a questionnaire. The sampling methods used are the census method and the Snowball method. The number of sample farmers in this study was 20 pineapple farmers who were members of the Karya Muda farmer group in pineapple agrotourism and 3 samples for marketing institutions. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. Data obtained in the field was processed in tabular form using Excel, then carried out mathematical calculations and described descriptively according to the objectives to be achieved in this research. The results of the research that has been carried out show that (1) There are 2 types of pineapple marketing channels used by pineapple farmers who are members of farmer groups in Karang Jaya Village, the first is Farmer → Middleman → Consumer, and the second channel is starting from Farmer → Middleman → Wholesalers → Consumers. (2) The average margin received for the first marketing channel at middleman institutions is Rp. 2,000/kg, and in channel II for middleman marketing institutions and wholesalers, the margin is Rp. 5,000/kg. The result of marketing efficiency level 1 is 12.14% and in marketing channel II the efficiency level obtained is 16.70%, so it can be concluded that both marketing channels are considered efficient, but if compared between the two channels, the first channel is more efficient because apart from saving Marketing costs on the first channel also save more travel time. (3) The average income of pineapple farmers who are members of the pineapple farmer group in Karang Jaya Village is Rp. 53. 591. 299/Lg/Year or Rp. 27,641,214/Ha/Year.
