Abstract
The research was intended to identify duku fruit quality which was fertilized with organic and inorganic fertilizer. The research Ogan Komering Ilir District. Sampled trees were belong to duku grower which were used as duku experimental station of RUSNAS Duku 2007, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University. The research consists of six fertilization treatments : 1) fertilized once a year, given in holes, circle digged under the tree’s canopy 3.25 kg per tree (1L), 2) fertilized once a year given in four holes digged at four direction under the tree canopy 3.25 kg per tree (1S), 3) fertilized twice a year, given in holes, circle digged under the tree’s canopy, each application was 1.64 kg per tree (2L), 4) fertilized twice a year given in four holes digged at four direction under the tree was held at Kijang Ulu village, canopy, each application was 1.64 kg per tree (2S), 5) fertilized with organic fertilizer, 5 1 per tree (O), and 6) without fertilizer (K). The result of the research showed that the fertilization treatments influenced duku quality. The weight of duku fruits from inorganic fertilized trees was in average 24.07 g, fruit volume was 14.07 ml, skin weight was 5.22 g and aril weight was 17.46 g. Whereas weight of fruit from organic fertilized trees was 21.12 g, volume 12.91 ml, skin weight 4.35 g and aril weight 15.46 g. Fertilizer given twice a year was better than fertilized once a year in fruit weight, 25.97 g, fruit volume, 15.19 ml and aril weight, 19.66 g. The weight of duku fruits from trees, fertilized twice a year given in holes, circle digged under the tree’s canopy was 25.97 g, fruit volume 15.19 ml and aril weight 19.66 g. Whereas weight of fruit from fertilized trees twice a year given in four holes digged at four direction under the tree canopy was 22.01 g, fruit volume 13.28 ml and aril weight 15.82 g.
