Abstract
This research is a type of quantitative research with a causal associative approach. This study aims to determine the effect of perceptions of teacher welfare on interest in becoming a teacher for Economic Education students in the 2020 Academic Year of FKIP Sriwijaya University. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The population in this study were Economic Education students in the 2020 academic year of FKIP Sriwijaya University, totaling 71 students and the sampling technique used a saturated sample. The validity test uses the Pearson Product Moment technique and the reliability test uses the Cronbach Alpha technique. The data analysis technique uses the classic assumption test, namely the normality test, linearity test, while the hypothesis test uses simple regression analysis. The results showed that there was an effect of perceived teacher welfare on the interest in becoming a teacher of Economic Education students in the 2020 Academic Year of FKIP Sriwijaya University, with a coefficient of determination of 34.87%. Recommendations for future researchers are advised to add indicators of perceived teacher welfare used in order to provide deeper and more accurate insight into the topic under study.
