Abstract

This Research target is to analysing technic and mechanism modification of a heater system of draining of tea herb by using fluid flow so that the temperature yielded constant and flatten at dryer space. This research was carried out at Agricultural Engineering Workshop, Agricultural Technology Departement, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, it was held on march until December 2006. The dryer in this reseach used 3 rack and material used are leaf greet and ginger. The temperature of this appliance is influenced by flowing fluid and water contain from those material. The temperatur of dryer space yielded in this research is 48,46 °C. The Result of this research was indicated that the time which is needed to drying the leaf of greef from water contain number 51,42 %bb until 14,27 %bb is 9 hour. While the time which is needed to drying the ginger from water contain 65,98 %bb until 14,34 %bb is 24 hour. Efficiency of this dryer system is 22,03 % while the efficiency equal on a heater is 48,46 %. The capacities of the diyer is 5 kg.
