Abstract

Pembuangan berbagai jenis limbah dan sampah yang mengandung beragam jenis bahan pencemar ke perairan. Degradasi plastik memerlukan waktu yang lama dan dipengaruhi oleh fotodegradasi, oksidasi, dan abrasi mekanis, sehingga menyebabkan plastik berpotensi sebagai pencemar perairan. Penelitian dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis cemaran mikroplastik di perairan Sungai Ogan Sumatera Selatan telah dilakukan. Penelitian bersifat kualitatif yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Informan peneliti berjumlah 10 orang, 2 informan kunci, 6 informan utama dan 2 informan pendukung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan Horizontal Water Sampel. Data karakteristik mikroplastik diperoleh dari hasil observasi lapangan dan pengambilan sampel air di bagian hulu dan hilir dari Sungai Ogan. Preparasi sampel air dilakukan di Laboratorium Kesehatan Lingkungan, Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat, Universitas Sriwijaya, sedangkan untuk karakteristik mikroplastik dilakukan di Laboratorium Biologi Fakultas Keguruan & Ilmu Pendidikan dengan menggunakan Mikroskop Trinokuler jenis CX33. Hasil menunjukkan kualitas air Sungai Ogan tergolong tercemar ringan, meskipun ditemukan keluhan masyarakat terhadap penyakit akibat air seperti gatal-gatal. Pengamatan mikroskopis menunjukkan partikel mikroplastik yang ditemukan berbentuk film,fragment,fiber, dan pellet, dengan ukuran 364,29µm hingga 3048,95µm berwarna coklat, hijau, merah, kuning, dan hitam. Kelimpahan mikroplastik berkisar 20-30 partikel/L. Kesimpulan penlitian adalah Sungai Ogan kegiatan dari aktivitas masyarakat yang membuang sampah diperairan menjadi penyebab hadirnya mikroplastik, dengan kualitas air sungai yang tergolong cemaran ringan memberikan dampak buruk bagi kesehatan yang menggunakan air tersebut. Disarankan kepada masyarakat untuk mengurangi pemakaian plastik dan timbulan sampah
