Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of the ARIAS learning model on students learning motivation in class X economics subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. This research is quantitative research with the type of experimental research. The population in the study was all class X at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. The samples in the research were 2 classes, namely class X.2 with 46 students as the experimental class using the ARIAS learning model, and class X.3 with 48 students as the control class using the Problem Base Learning model. The sampling technique used was Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and observations. Test the validity of the instrument using the Pearson Product Moment formula and reliability using the Alpha Cronbach formula. The results of the research showed that the learning motivation data obtained by the experimental class and control class were categorized as good, namely with an average percentage of 78.98% in the experimental class and 73.11% in the control class. Data analysis used the t-test which showed that tcount ≥ ttable, namely 3.195 ≥ 1.662, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The determinant coefficient test of the influence of the ARIAS learning model on learning motivation is 1.89% while 98.11% is influenced by other factors. So it can be concluded that there are differences in the influence of the ARIAS learning model on students' learning motivation in class X economics subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, so the use of the ARIAS learning model is highly recommended. With learning motivation, it can grow students' enthusiasm and self-confidence in learning so that they obtain optimal learning results. Keywords: ARIAS Learning Model, Learning Motivation.
