Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the results of the needs analysis and objective conditions of teachers and students towards the development of e-modules; (2) describe the product design of e-module development, and (3) describe the feasibility of product design from the results of validity tests by material experts, linguists, and media / presentation experts towards the development of e-modules using the BookCreator application on argumentation text writing materials for grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. This research uses the stages of research in the Alessi and Trollip development model which consists of three stages, namely planning, designing, and development. Qualitative data in this study were collected through interview techniques. Meanwhile, quantitative data was collected through questionnaire techniques for Indonesian language teachers and students of Class XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. At the planning stage, the researcher conducts an analysis of the needs and objective conditions by involving teachers and learners. The results of interviews and needs analysis show that teaching materials in the form of e-modules by integrating digital technology are needed. The results of the analysis of learning objective conditions for writing argumentation texts show that the teaching materials used by students and teachers are still not optimizing existing digital technology, so that learning is still classified as conventional. The design phase in this study produces flowcharts and storyboards and also the collection of learning materials and preparation of learning implementation plans. After that, the product is developed and validated by experts. Overall, e-module material writing argumentation text using web-based applications BookCreator earned an average percentage of 95.61% with a score of 98.21% from material experts, 88.63% from linguists, and 100% from presentation/graphics experts. From these results, it can be concluded that the product is declared valid/feasible and can be used by learners and teachers after the final product revision process.
