Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of TikTok social media on students' interest in learning the Civics Education subject in grade VII at SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Makmur. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research sample consisted of the entire population of grade VII, amounting to 102 students, using 4 classes: VII-1, VII-2, VII-3, and VII-4, selected using saturated sample technique. Data collection techniques in this study used Likert scales and documentation. Based on the results of this study, TikTok social media has a significant influence on students' interest in learning. This is evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing using paired sample t- test through SPSS Version 25. This is proven by the hypothesis testing results obtained a Sig. value of 0.000. This value of 0.000 is < than 0.05, thus it is concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that TikTok social media has an influence on students' interest in learning the Civics Education subject at SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Makmur.
