Abstract

Daun teh hijau (camelia sinensis L.) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki kandungan epigallocatechin gallate yang memiliki efek sebagai antioksidan. Virgin coconut oil merupakan olahan dari daging kelapa yang mengandung asam laurat yang berfungsi untuk menghaluskan, menjaga kelembapan kulit dan mencegah penuaan dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formulasi menggunakan ekstrak daun teh hijau (camellia sinensis L.) dan virgin coconut oil terhadap kualitas hand and body lotion. Maserasi daun teh hijau menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% menghasilkan rendemen sebesar 10,72%. Virgin coconut oil dibuat dengan metode enzimatis menggunakan papain kasar menghasilkan rendemen sebesar 4,35%. Pada hand and body lotion digunakan ekstrak daun teh hijau sebesar 0,5%, dan virgin coconut oil sebesar 5% (F1), 10% (F2), dan 15% (F3). Pengamatan sifat fisik dilakukan secara uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji viskositas, dan uji bobot jenis. Ketiga formula memiliki warna hijau muda, bentuk semi padat, wangi green tea, dan homogen. Nilai pH pada formula 1 diperoleh7,64, formula 2 diperoleh 7,78, dan formula 3 diperoleh 7,98. Nilai daya sebar pada formula 1 diperoleh 6,4 cm, formula 2 diperoleh 6,4 cm, dan formula 3 diperoleh 6,7 cm. Nilai viskositas pada formula 1 diperoleh 2.050 cP, formula 2 diperoleh 3.833 cP, dan formula 3 diperoleh 4.100 cP. Nilai bobot jenis pada formula 1 diperoleh 1,014, formula 2 1,008, formula 3 diperoleh 1,006. Ketiga formula telah memenuhi syarat kualitas Standar Nasional Indonesia. Pada uji hedonik disimpulkan panelis lebih menyukai hand and body lotion formula 2. Kata kunci: daun teh hijau, virgin coconut oil, hand and body lotion.
