Abstract

The provide of future energy is a problem that always become main attention of the countries all around the world because human welfare in modem life however has connection with quality and quantity of energy that has been used. Electrical energy is one of factors that very important in country development and establishment. Right utilization of electrical energy will be a good factor to stimulate national economy growth. Indonesia has many villages that haven’t been provided by electricity, besides renewable natural resources can be used especially hydroelectric energy. In this case, author will do a study about “Experimental Study Models The Horizontal Axis Darrieus Turbine with Six Blades Airfoil NACA 0018”. Testing methods will be done by measure the water flow velocity then turbine will be soaked into water with 20%, 50%, 75%, 100% elevation, force comparison on load and portable digital scale will be multiplied with pulley radius will obtain torque, after the torque has been obtained, the data calculation will be executed. The data that will be calculated are turbine power (pt) water power (Pa) and efficiency (n). The best efficiency is in 75% depth, with 14,124% efficiency and power turbine is 4,069 Watt also water power is 28,812 Watt. This show that river flow can be used as renewable natural
