Abstract
The purpose of this study is to obtain information about the influence of the implementation of Predict Discuss Explain Observe Discuss Explore Explain (PDEODEE) strategy on conceptual understanding the excretory system in junior high school students. This study use Pre-Experimental Designs in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The Determination of sample conducted by using Simple Random Sampling, and obtained that the sample is class VIII Epublic JHS 1 North Indralaya. The sample of the study were 28 students consisted of 15 men and 13 women. The instrument used in this study is a test instrument that uses multiple choice questions. The mean value of posttest of learner’s conceptual understanding is higher than the average pretest of 78.57 and 51.71. The analysis of hypothesis data is by using t-test with the help of Statiscal Program for Social Science program (SPSS20) obtained that t-count of 16.672 while t-table of 2.052. The result shows that t-count> t-table is 16,672>2,052, so H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that the implementation of Predict Discuss Explain Observe Discuss Explore Explain (PDEODEE) strategy significantly influences the understanding of the concept of excretory system in junior high school students.
