Abstract

The most frequently discussed coal mining problem is acid mine drainage. Environmental processing of acid mine water is an important activity carried out during coal mining activities, because before it is managed, acid mine water has a low pH, namely around 2 - 4, where the pH of this water does not meet the environmental quality standards regulated by the South Sumatra Provincial Government, namely the pH of the water must be lower. numbers 6 – 9 and the threshold TSS value is 300. The water at the KPL AL 10 location in the PT Pamapersada Nusantara MTBU pit has an initial condition of pH 4.9 and TSS 3716, where this value does not meet environmental quality standards. Therefore, water treatment using chemical solutions is needed. With the aim that it can be suitable for flowing into the river. Treatment of Acid Mine Water with Sodium Hydroxide and Poly Aluminum Chloride. KPL AL 10 Inlet Water Test Results with NaOH experienced an increase in pH such as 10mL NaOH water pH became 10.16; 15mL NaoH The pH of the water becomes 11.35; 20mL NaOH The pH of the water becomes 12.62; 25mL NaOH The pH of the water becomes 12.86. To administer Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC), namely by administering 20ml PAC to the inlet water, the TSS value becomes 55; 30mL PAC TSS value becomes 5, 50mL PAC TSS value becomes 12 and 100 mL PAC TSS value becomes 26. The data is then analyzed and linear regression is calculated so that the field scale dose can be calculated so that an estimate of the costs that will be incurred by the Company for the supply of Sodium Hydroxide and Poly is obtained. Aluminum Chloride (PAC) in the KPL AL 10 Pit MTBU area. The costs that must be incurred are IDR 7,782,000 for the supply of NaOH while for the provision of PAC it is IDR 8,572,800.
