Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors causing the low participation of the elderly in the Elderley Posyandu program in Tanjung Gelam Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive type of research. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The population of this study is the elderly in Tanjung Gelam Village. The sampling technique used in this study is Random Sampling. The data analysis technique in this study uses the percentage of frequency technique. The results of data analysis in this study show that the percentage of knowledge indicators is 91.14%. The percentage on the family support indicator is 76.56%. Finally, the percentage on the distance indicator, which is 63.28%. Based on these results, it shows that the elderly already have good knowledge about the elderly posyandu program. However, the long distance from home to the village health post and transportation obstacles cause the elderly to experience difficulties in attending the elderly posyandu program, so they need family support in participating in these activities.
