Abstract

Shear walls can be an alternative to earthquake-resistant building structures. The use of geopolymer concrete in shear walls can be an alternative to making earthquake-resistant building structures. The ANSYS program can be used to conduct research related to structural unit analysis. The analysis used in this research uses the finite element method. The results of the analysis are hysteresis curves, ductility, stiffness, and cumulative energy dissipation. Comparing the strength performance of shear wall structures using normal concrete with those using geopolymer concrete with different reinforcement ratios. Compared with N10 and N12, specimen N8 was able to achieve the same drift ratio as N0.1F. Specimens N8, N10 and N12 have similar ductility values and belong to the high ductility demand. N8 has the largest cumulative energy dissipation value because it is able to achieve the highest drift ratio of 2.5% in the thrust load direction and 2% in the tensile load direction. The results of this study indicate that the reinforcement ratio affects the strength of the shear wall in resisting cyclic loads.
