Abstract
DC Type Submersible Pump is a pump that has a drive motor located in the pump body which is designed to be operated by immersing it in water. This research aims to assess the performance of DC Type Submersible Pumps at several variations in suction depth using pressure on a thermometer. The research was carried out at the Agricultural Energy Sub-Laboratory and Machinery Sub-Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, which took place from 10 January 2024 to 13 February 2024. The method used was descriptive with treatment involving various pressures using a Wiebrock Pressure Gauge with a diameter of 4" inches. The treatment in this study used several suction depths of 2.5 m, 5 m, 7.5 m, 10 m, 12.5 m, each repeated three times. The parameters observed in this research are flow rate, electric current, electric voltage, electric power, battery capacity, battery usage time, and pump efficiency. The experimental method was carried out by installing a pump into a container filled with water. Then, measurements are carried out at various suction depths to record the water flow produced by the pump, the electric current required, the electric voltage provided, and the electric power consumed. In addition, the capacity of the battery used to operate the pump is also observed. Based on the research results, the average value of all parameters is the lowest depth of 2.5m, flow rate of 0.78 m3/h, electric current of 6.10 A, electric voltage of 11.89 V, electric power of 72.56 W, with a battery capacity of 1200 The battery usage time is 13.2 hours, the pump efficiency is 29.02% and the energy requirement is 0.073 kWh. . At the highest depth of 12.5 m, the average flow rate is 0.033 m3/h, electric current is 10.72 A, electric voltage is 11.89 V, electric power is 126.4 W, with a battery capacity of 1200 Wh, battery usage time is 7. 49 hours, pump efficiency is 50.56% and energy requirements are 0.126 kWh. Shows that the performance of the DC type submersible pump is influenced by the suction depth
