Abstract
The use of electrical energy continues to increase, and the majority of energy sources used to generate electricity are fossil fuels such as gas, oil, and coal. Continuous use of fossil fuels will deplete their reserves because fossil energy takes a very long time to replenish. Therefore, renewable energy such as wind energy, which can convert kinetic energy into electrical energy, is needed. This study aims to analyze the influence of Savonius wind turbines and vertical axis wind turbines on wind and to calculate their output power. The results of the study indicate that the 2-blade vertical axis wind turbine shows better efficiency performance compared to the 2-blade Savonius wind turbine, with an efficiency value of 98.4%. Moreover, the power obtained increases with the rising wind speed. Additionally, as the load increases, the voltage decreases, and the current increases.
