Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is the ability of students to express mathematical ideas which include pictures, tables, diagrams, mathematical equations, words and so on. But in fact, there are problems regarding students' mathematical representation skills at SMP Negeri 32 Palembang. This study aims to see and describe students' mathematical representation skills on data presentation material after the use of edutainment-based learning media. The research method used was descriptive with qualitative data analysis in accordance with mathematical representation indicators. This research was conducted at SMP N 32 Palembang in class VII.1 involving 19 students as the subjects. Data collection was done by giving LKPD and test questions in the form of descriptions and interview results with students. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that students' mathematical representation skills on data presentation material after the use of edutainment-based learning media were in the medium category with an average score of 61.05 and an average score for symbolic representation indicators of 67.06, visual representation 88.24 and verbal 49.41.
