Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of supplementation of organic selenium and vitamin E to support increasing the physical characteristics of local duck eggs. The research was conducted in the experimental cage of Animal Husbandry Program of Study, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, for two months from July to September 2013. This research used a completely randomized design with a factorial arranged in four levels of Organic Selenium (S) and two levels of vitamin E (E). This study consisted eight treatment combinations with three (3) replicated, each of replication consistied of two (2) local ducks. The parameters were egg weight, egg shell percentage, percentage of egg white and yolk percentage. The data were processed by variance of analysis in accordance with the design that is used and if there is a real difference will be followed by Duncan's test.s The study concluded that supplementation of organic selenium and vitamin E significantly (P <0.05) affect on egg weight and percentage of egg white, but supplementation of organic selenium and vitamin E showed not significantly effect (P> 0.05) on the percentage of egg shell and yolk percentage.
