Abstract

Sustainability in the construction sector contributes significantly to national economic growth, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In urban areas experiencing rapid urbanization, sustainable construction principles are often overlooked, causing environmental damage that requires sustainable solutions. EDGE provides recommendations for green buildings that are financially viable and energy efficient, providing significant financial and environmental benefits, while encouraging the implementation of more affordable sustainable design in urban areas. This study aims to analyze residents' perceptions regarding sustainability on energy consumption and analyzing resident perceptions regarding sustainability on water consumption. The research method used is quantitative using a questionnaire as an instrument in data collection. This research used a sample of 45 respondents from Villa Sejahtera Housing. Data processing is tested with validity and reliability and then carried out using data Microsoft Excel and software SPSS. Resident's perception of sustainability in terms of energy consumption shows that the indicator with a mean value of 3.68. The use of natural ventilation has a significant effect on energy savings. Resident's perception of sustainability in terms of water consumption it shows a mean value of 3.46. The use of shower is an effective way to save water. The largest mean value is in the sustainable construction criteria with a value of 3.67 with the sub-criteria: Use of roof materials in accordance with the EDGE system. The use of roofing materials that meet EDGE criteria helps achieve sustainability in building projects.
