Abstract

The objective of the study was to know embryonic development pattem, hatching rate and incubation period of gouramy egg under different incubation temperatures, as well as volumes of yolk and oil globules and total length of newly liatched larvae. The research was done on July 23^ until September 8* 2006 in the Centre For Freshwater Hatchery Development, Sukabumi West Java. This current experiment tested four treatments namely (TO) 23-25° C, (Tl) 26-28°C, (T2) 29-31°C, and (T3) 32-34°C. Parameters observed were embryonic development pattem, hatching rate and incubation period, hatching percentage, volumes of yolk and oil globules, larvae total length and water quality. The result showed that eggs incubated under temperature range of research had normal sequence of embryonic development pattem, but on the temperature 32- 34°C (T3) there were about 40% abnormal larvae produced. Hatching rate on treatment (TO), (Tl), (T2), and (T3) were 12,97 % per hours, 16,69% per hours, 20,13 % per hours and 33,51 % per hours. Incubation period on treatment (TO), (Tl), (T2), and (T3) were 51,5 hours, 43 hours, 39 hours, and 27,5 hours with in hatching percentage of 55,73%, 87,6%, 86,66, and 80,66%, respectively. Volumes of yolk of 1,081 mm3, 1,148 mm3, 1,449 mm3, and 1,071 mm3. Volumes of oil globules ofeach treatment were 5, 757 mm3, 5,697 mm3, 4,213 mm3, and 4,050 mm3. Total length of larvae in each treatment were 5,61 mm, 5,65 mm, 5,86 ram, and 5,73 mm The result of water quality that each treatment were pH (7,01-7,04), Carbondioxside (6,58-15,4 mg/1), Disolved oxygen (3,24-4,9 mg/1), Ammonia (0,06-0,091 mg/1), and Nitrit (0,029-0,569 mg/1).
