Abstract
The ease of accessing information on the internet has led to the emergence of many online shopping platforms, resulting in an increasing number of online courier companies providing safe package delivery services to consumers. This poses a risk to couriers who spend their working hours on the highways. Therefore, good safety riding practices are necessary to minimize traffic accidents. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors related to safety riding behavior among expedition couriers in Ilir Barat I District. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach and employs total sampling involving 46 expedition couriers. The results of this research indicate that 50% of expedition couriers exhibit poor safety riding behavior, while 50% exhibit good safety riding behavior. Based on the chi-square test, the research findings show that the variables related to safety riding behavior are knowledge (0.000), awareness (0.000), and safe relationships (0.038). The variables that are not related are rewards (0.375) and punishments (1.000). Therefore, it is recommended that the expedition companies provide rewards and punishments to couriers who consistently prioritize safety riding in accordance with the SOP. Additionally, they should create a checklist related to safe safety riding behaviors, establish a hotline service for reporting couriers who do not adhere to safety riding on the highways, and conduct regular safety talks on safety riding led by OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) experts.
