Abstract

This research purposed to know the effect of dietary phytase supplementation on phosphorus (P) bioavailability from the nabaty sources of fish’s diets and it is effect to patinfish (.Pangasius hypopthalmus) growth. The research has been done from September until October 2008 at Laboratory of Aquaculture. This research used completely randomized design with five treatments and three replication. Fish weight in this research was 2 ± 0,5 g. The treatments were P1 (as a positive control, was supplemented with inorganic P), P2 (without inorganic P and supplemented with phytase at 40 mg/100 g soy bean meal and bran), P3 (without inorganic P and supplemented with phytase at 50 mg/100 g soy bean meal and bran), P4 (without inorganic P and supplemented with phytase at 60 mg/100 g soy bean meal and bran) and P5 (without inorganic P and phytase). The result of research showed that adding phytase didn’t give increasing protein retention, food convertion, growth of length, growth of weight and survival rate, but it gave significant differences for P digestibility and the protein digestibility. The survival rate of patin during the research was 97,78%-100%.
