Abstract

Palembang TV, commonly referred to as PALTV, is a local television station broadcasting in the Palembang city area. With the program motto "Memang Punyo Kito," PALTV offers interactive broadcast programs that emphasize a close connection to Palembang's culture. One of PALTV's flagship programs is Studio42, an entertainment program. This research aims to examine the influence of the Studio42 entertainment program on the viewing interest of Communication Science students from the 2020-2023 cohorts at FISIP Unsri. The study employs a quantitative research method, involving the distribution of questionnaires, documentation, and literature review. This research applies the theories of Mass Communication and Viewing Interest by Ardianto. According to these theories, three indicators of a broadcast program and three indicators of viewing interest are detailed. The findings of this study reveal a positive influence between the entertainment program and the viewing interest in the Studio42 entertainment program.
