Abstract

This research aims to find out the level of self-management among students who use TikTok at SMP Negeri 2 Pedamaran. The population of this study were students at SMP Negeri 2 Pedamaran. The research method used was quantitative descriptive, for data analysis using univariate analysis, namely to determine the percentage distribution of data distribution, while bivariate analysis used the Chi square test. The analysis comes from the answers to the questionnaire distributed to respondents. The research results were found from 35 respondents, the majority of respondents, namely 19 people (54.3%) lacked self-management while 16 other people had good self-management, 15 people (62.8) used Tiktok for ≥ 7 hours per day, next 10 people (28.2%) use TikTok < 1 hour per day, and 3 people (8.6%) use TikTok for 5-6 hours per day, 18 people (94.8%) use TikTok for ≥ 7 hours, and 1 person (5.2%) uses TikTok < 1 hour. Meanwhile, of the 16 respondents who had good self-management, it was found that 2 people (12.5%) used TikTok 5-6 hours/day and 14 people (87.5%) used TikTok < 1 hour per day. It is hoped that school principals and teachers will be able to provide guidance and training to students, especially regarding how to control themselves in using social media and so that students are able to organize and utilize their time for more useful activities..
