Abstract
The objective of this research was to know the efectivity of glyphosate combined with metyl metsulfuron and to know the exact mixture dosages in controlling growth of weed on rubber plantation. The research was conducted ffom Maret until July 2005 at experiment farming rubber Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University Indralaya. Randomized block design was applied with two factor. The first factor was three different dosages of glyphosate such as : 480 g a.i of glyphosate ha'1 (Gl), 720 g a.i of glyphosate ha'1 (G2), 960 g a.i of glyphosate ha'1 (G3), The second factor was metyl metsulfuron consist of three different dosages they were : 10 g a.i of metyl metsulfuron ha'1 (Ml), 15 g a.i of metyl metsulfuron ha'1 (M2), 20 g a.i of metyl metsulfuron ha'1 (M3). The result of research showed that the dominant weed on research location before aplication of herbisida was Digitaria sanguinalis yaitu 22,7 %, Imperata cylindrica 16,4 %, Paspalum conjugatum 12,4 %, Borreria alata 12,0 %, and after aplication herbicida on G1M2, was Paspalum conjugatum 53,22 %, Digitaria sanguinalis 25,14 %, Borreria alata 21,64 %, on G1M1 was Imperata cylindrica 75 %, Borreria alata 25 %, on G2M1 was Paspalum conjugatum 37,71 %, Digitaria sanguinalis 20 %, Cyperus iria 17,78 %, Imperata cylindrica 15,55 %, Mimosa pudica 8,88 %, on G2M2 was Paspalum conjugatum 39,12 %, Cyperus iria 31,9 %, Borreria alata 18,69 %, Imperata cylindrica 10,27 %, on G1M3 was Imperata i cylindrica 61,11 %, Digilaria sanguinalis 22,22 %, Mimosa pudica 16,67 %. Combined of glyphosate and metyl metsulfuron could increase the efectivity in controlling of weed on rubber. The combined of glyphosate (960 g b.i ha'1) and metyl metsulfuron (15 g a.i ha'1) gave an effective in maintaining of the soft weed population and depressed dry wight on 45 Day After Apliation (DAA). Aplication metyl metsulfuron (20 g a.i ha"1) gave an effective maintaining of the soft weed population on 45 Day After Aplication (DAA). Aplication glyphosate (960 g a.i ha'1) gave an effective maintaining of the soft weed population on 45 DAA, 60 DAA, 75 DAA and 90 DAA.
