Abstract

Pembangkit listrik tenaga nuklir (PLTN) berbasis Gas Cooled Fast Reactor (GFR) dengan strategi Modifed CANDLE menawarkan solusi alternatif yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan untuk kebutuhan energi yang semakin meningkat, mengingat terbatasnya cadangan bahan bakar fosil. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis performa dua jenis bahan bakar nuklir, uranium nitirde (UN) dan thorium nitiride (ThN), dalam desain teras reaktor GCFR. perbandingan dilakukan berdasarkan parameter neutronik, seperti faktor multiplikasi efektif (k-eff), konvensi rasio dan perubahan komposisi material fisil serta fertil. analisa ini menggunakan perangkat lunak SRAC untuk menghitung deplesi bahan bakar selama 100 tahun dengan interval refueling setiap 10 tahun. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua bahan bakar mampu mempertahankan kondisi kritis selaam 100 tahun operasi, selain itu pefroma dari baan bakar uranium nitride (UN) dinilai kurang baik jika dibandingkan dengan thorium nitride (ThN) perihal permuliaan bahan bakar (breeding). pengamatan juga dilakukan pada tiga isotop utama dari masing-masing bahan bakar yaitu U235, U238 dan Pu239 untuk uranium nitirde (UN) dan U233, U232 dan Th232 untuk thorium nitride mengalami tren menaik dan bahkan cukup signifikan pada ThN. kata kunci : GFR, UN, ThN, SRAC, K-Infinte, convertion ratio, isotop, k-effective.
