Abstract
The Maternal Mortality Rate in Indonesia continues to rise, with South Sumatra recording 175 per 100,000 live births in 2023. One of the main causes is anemia, often caused by iron deficiency, which affects 48.9% of pregnant women in Indonesia. Therefore, nutrition education that involves the active participation of pregnant women is crucial to reducing pregnancy complications and improving maternal health during pregnancy. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a one group pre-posttest design. The research sample consists of 32 pregnant women in the working area of Makrayu Health Center who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The multisensory approach proved effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pregnant women to prevent anemia, with significant changes in pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). Knowledge showed the largest increase, with an average of 32.5, followed by attitudes with an average change of 5.06, and behaviors with an average increase of 3.28. Factors such as maternal income significantly influenced the post-test behavior results. The use of multisensory education was effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of pregnant women as a preventive measure against anemia.
