Abstract

This study is entitled ''The Strategy of the Population Control and Family Planning Office in Running the Village Family Planning Program in the District of East Merapi Lahat Regency". This research is based on the problem of socialization, counseling and publications on the KB Village program that has not been maximized, the number of KB participants who are not close to one hundred percent, and still few use long-term contraceptive methods. This study aims to find out about the strategy of the Population Control and Family Planning Office in carrying out the Village Family Planning program in East Merapi District. This study uses strategy theory according to Fred R David which covers six dimensions, namely the development of culture, organizational structure, marketing efforts, budget, information systems, and compensation. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection method is by interview, documentation, and observation. The results of this study indicate that from all six dimensions, the whole has not gone well, namely the dimensions of marketing and budget efforts. We recommend that the Population Control and Family Planning Service should be more transparent and open, especially when it comes to the budget by providing publication media for reporting the budget used and its realization, and also paying more attention to the publication section so that the community is certainly more aware of the KB Village program.
