Abstract
PT XYZ is located in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. In Pit Pandu I, mining activities have been completed or have reached the ultimate pit limit. In that pit, there are still coal reserves that have been submerged by water and mud found in the void. PT XYZ plans to extend Pit Pandu I and will undertake a mining project, so a technical and economic study is required before the project is carried out. This research aims to plan the mining schedule at Extend Pit Pandu I, analyze the economic feasibility of mining activities using the cash flow method, and analyze the economic criteria against the sensitivity of changes in coal selling prices and production costs. Based on the life of mine (LOM) design obtained from the mine engineer at PT XYZ, a mining schedule was created using the SPRY 5.0 software, and it was determined that coal and overburden production would be completed within 3 months, with a total coal production of 50,296 tons and overburden of 277,324 BCM. After that, the estimated number of mechanical equipment used was calculated. Based on the production scheduling that has been carried out, a cumulative cash flow of US$ 119,101 was obtained. The value is considered feasible and profitable for the company, while still taking into account the increase in coal selling prices and production costs, because a 15% decrease in coal selling prices and a 15% increase in production costs result in a negative cumulative cash flow.
