Abstract
Barrier gate in the Diploma Computer Program Sriwijaya University still use manual barrier gate , therefore the manufacture of mechanical devices for the implementation of the RFID sensor a smartcard as a tool of barrier gate at Diploma Computer Sriwijaya University was created to relieve the operator or security job’s in the setting of a smartcard and made into a regular parking. Some components used in the mechanicalmdevices are microcontroller ATMega16, push button, RFID sensors, proximity sensors, RFID tags, two DC motors, motor driver L298N, wireless KYL, and software CodevVision AVR using C language. The workings of this mechanical device is a DC motor will push and pull the card as it gets input from the push button. ATmega16 microcontroller process the input data with program content that has been downloaded using the downloader, the content of the programs created using the C programming language and CodeVisionAVR software. RFID sensor detects the RFID tag , and ID is sent to the PC using the Wireless KYL. From the results of tests on mechanical devices found success percentage, DC motors can pull the cards equal to 100%, the DC motor pushed the card at 81.25% and the RFID sensor detects card 100%. The test results are not all 100% successful, the error still occurs in a working system is a mechanical device, but the error rate is still have a tolerance limits are permissible.
