Abstract

This study aims to assess the physical condition of male hockey indoor athletes at PUSLATDA South Sumatera in preparation for PON XXI Aceh-Sumut 2024. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method. The instruments used were BMI (antropometry), endurance (balke test), strength (push-up dan sit-up), speed (20m sprint), agility (shuttle run), flexibility (sit and reach), and explosive power (medicine ball and vertical jump). The research sample consisted of 12 male hockey indoor athletes from PUSLATDA. Result showed that the athletes’ Body Mass Index averaged 22,10, with 91,7% (11 athletes) in the normal category and 8.3% (1 athlete) in obesity category 2. Endurance averaged 3,955 with 100% (12 athletes) in the very poor category. Push-up strength averaged 18 with 58,3% (7 athletes) in the poor category, while sit-up averaged 25 with 100% (12 athletes) in the very poor category. Speed averaged 3,49 with 50% categorized as poor (6 athletes). Agility averaged 14,24 with 66,7% in moderate category (8 athletes). Flexibilty avareged 14 with 58,3% in poor category (7 athletes). Arm power averaged 3,93 with 66,7% in poor category (8 athletes), and leg power averaged 53 with 91,7% in very poor category (11 athletes). Its is concluded that the physical condition of PUSLATDA South Sumatera hockey indoor athletes in preparation for PON XXI Aceh-Sumut 2024 is poor.
