Abstract

Abstract This study aims to create teaching materials that are valid and in accordance with the STEM approach in learning PJOK, especially in basketball material, to provide an easy solution for students in learning basic movements in basketball material and assessing the effectiveness, practicality of the STEM approach in PJOK basketball material, in improving the understanding and skills of junior high school students. The problem faced by researchers is that when the basketball learning process takes place, students become bored, bored and students prefer to sit on the sidelines, so that learning becomes less effective and the lack of understanding of students' basketball material is seen from questions about basketball material, many students cannot answer. This research uses the ADDIE method which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. To determine the validity of the product developed, researchers provided validation sheets to three material expert validators. Product trials were carried out in two stages, namely small-scale trials on 52 participants and large-scale trials on 78 seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Palembang. Data collection was carried out using validation sheets from material experts and Learner Worksheets (LKPD). The results showed that (1) STEM-based teaching materials in basketball material in junior high school have been successfully applied and have previously gone through validation from experts, the resulting product is considered very feasible to be applied to students based on the assessment of the three material experts. In the first validity test, the score obtained was 90%, with the category “Very Feasible” with some improvements. In the second validity test, the product obtained a score of 93% with the category “Very Feasible” without improvement, and in the third validity test, the score obtained was 97% with the category “Very Feasible”, and (2) LKPD proved effective to be applied in basketball learning. This can be seen from the increase in the average score of students, with a pretest score of 72.52 which increased to 78.17 on the posttest, with a t-count value of 8.982> t-table 1.675 at alpha 0.05 DF N-1. It can be concluded that the development of STEM-based teaching materials on basketball material at the junior high school level is applicable, effective and feasible to use.
