Abstract
In public diplomacy, the cultural and tourism sectors are important components in increasing interaction between countries. The South Sumatra Provincial Government conducts public diplomacy through the Sriwijaya Festival as a form of promoting the branding of "Explore Your South Sumatra" in order to improve the image of South Sumatra in the international arena. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method using the concept of Public Diplomacy according to Nicholas J. Cull which will describe Public Diplomacy based on Listening, Cultural Diplomacy, and International Broadcasting. The results of the study show that the Sriwijaya Festival succeeded in bringing in delegations from abroad to visit South Sumatra, which is one form of public diplomacy effort carried out by the government to introduce culture, tourism, the advantages of South Sumatra, and build a positive image in the eyes of the world that can attract the attention of local and international communities to visit South Sumatra. Through communication strategies, stakeholder involvement, and the use of social media, the branding of "Explore Your South Sumatra" has succeeded in promoting tourist destinations rich in culture and history. However, there are challenges regarding the lack of international news that highlights the Sriwijaya Festival, culture and tourism of South Sumatra, to achieve a broad and sustainable impact.
