Abstract

The aim of the research was to know the growth of Papaya and Pineapple as intercrop with rubber. The research was conducted at The PT. Rusli Taher rubber plantation, District of Tanjung Raja, Ogan Ilir regency, from June 2009 to September 2009. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD), which consisted of five treatments with four replications. The treatments were NIP1 ( 1 row of pineapple with 1 row papaya ), N1P2 ( 1 row pineapple with 2 rows papaya), N2P1 ( 2 rows pineapple with 1 row papaya), N1P0 ( 1 row pineapple, without papaya), N0P1 ( without pineapple, 1 row papaya) The results of the research showed that the growth of pineapples and papaya as intercrop did not affect significantly for all observed parameters N2P1 treatment (2 Pineapple with 1 row Papaya) provided a good growth of papaya in intercropping . For N1P2 treatments (1 row pineapple with 2 rows papaya) provided a good growth for pineapple in intercropping.
