Abstract
Urban agriculture is one of the efforts to optimize narrow land in order to make efficient space limitations by cultivating vegetables in two layers. Two-layer cultivation is one way to optimize narrow land in urban areas. Two-layer cultivation by selecting vegetable plants such as cucumbers, red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and radishes can be an option in agricultural cultivation in urban areas and paying attention to their growth. This study aims to see the growth and yield of red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and white radishes planted in two layers with cucumbers in urban areas. This study was conducted by evaluating the growth and yield of red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and white radishes planted in two layers with cucumbers in urban areas. The data collected were then observed for their growth characteristics and then the data were analyzed descriptively. Red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and white radish plants still showed good growth even under the shade of cucumbers. Red lettuce leaves have a color that is not too thick when planted under cucumbers. Cherry tomatoes have a continuous value between fresh weight and volume. While the white radish harvest showed the best results in the third harvest. Two-layer cultivation can be used as a development for urban agriculture and the diversity of results from two-layer cultivation can be utilized in meeting family food needs.
