Abstract

Kemampuan computational thinking penting dimiliki peserta didik pada abad ke- 21 agar dapat menyeimbangkan pendidikan dengan kemajuan yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan computational thinking peserta didik kelas VII dalam menyelesaikan soal numerasi materi perbandingan senilai. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang dengan subjek peserta didik kelas VII.A sebanyak 32 peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif - kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan wawancara terhadap lembar jawaban peserta didik yang memuat 4 indikator computational thinking, di antaranya dekomposisi, pengenalan pola, abstraksi dan algoritma. Hasil analisis data dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan computational thinking peserta didik kelas VII.A SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang sebagian besar berada dalam kategori sedang dengan rata rata 48,43. Rincian pada masing-masing kategori di antaranya adalah peserta didik tinggi mampu memunculkan semua indikator, peserta didik sedang mampu memunculkan 2-3 indikator, dan peserta didik rendah hanya mampu memunculkan satu indikator saja. Adapun urutan indikator yang muncul dalam jawaban peserta didik dari yang terbanyak adalah dekomposisi dengan rata rata sebesar 59,37, Abstraksi dengan rata rata 54,51, pengenalan pola dengan rata rata 49,3 dan yang terakhir algoritma dengan rata rata 33,33. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa keseluruhan indikator berada pada kategori sedang.
