Abstract

Indonesia is located in the equatorial region, which has the potential for solar energy that can be utilized for Solar Power Plants). This forms the basis for the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to set a target of 23% renewable energy mix by 2025. The target aims to replace conventional energy sourced from fossil fuels, which are becoming scarce and expensive. The utilization of solar energy in residential areas, particularly through hybrid rooftop solar power systems with State Electricity Company of Indonesia (PLN), becomes effective according to the calculation of electrical power potential that has been conducted as an initial planning step in the development of Solar Power Plant systems using PVsyst simulation at Building I, Faculty of Engineering, Sriwijaya University, South Sumatra. The PVsyst simulation results for the 39.6 kWp capacity hybrid rooftop solar power system show an effective array energy potential of 58,116 kWh/year and an average energy transfer to the PLN grid of 2,964 kWh/year. Meanwhile, the average energy utilized from the PLN grid is 7369 kWh per year with a performance ratio of 75%. Keywords- Solar Rooftop Hybrid, PVsyst, Performance ratio
