Abstract
Electrical energy storage as a power supply in the form of a Lead Acid battery consisting of two types of electrode plates, namely positive electrodes and negative electrodes and a concentrated solution of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) mixed with Water (H2O) as a conducting medium that can produce electrical energy from the electrochemical process of the three battery components producing a positive pole (cathode) and a negative pole (anode) a Charging process occurs (automatic Charging) if there is a Discharging process or excessive Charging results in damage to the electrode elements. This study aims to recondition the battery by replacing the material on the damaged battery components with new and good components and calculating the efficiency of the reconditioned battery greater than or equal to 60%. The recording of this research data uses a data logger that can record current and voltage data in Real time per minute. The performance of the reconditioned battery compared to the new battery by 75% using a 60 Watt lamp load is 30 hours and 40 hours of battery discharging. From the discharging process, the battery efficiency of the new battery is 90% and the battery efficiency of the reconditioned battery is 68%. Reconditioned data of more than 75%, it is concluded that the reconditioned battery is still very suitable for use.
