Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the socio-economic status of parents and the learning achievement of students at SMAN 2 Sekayu, Banyuasin Regency. The research method chosen is quantitative research, which is a type of research that produces a series of studies that can be obtained using various statistical procedures or using measurements. The researcher determines the number of populations used are students of class XI IPS. In this study, the number of samples used is all students of class XI IPS, totaling 30 students. This test was carried out using "Product Moment Correlation" where this mechanism emphasizes two variables that have a relationship. The researcher used the help of SPSS software version 26 in conducting the test to achieve the objectives of this study. The results of this study indicate that parental employment has a relationship with student learning achievement with a degree of relationship of 0.515 which is classified as moderate. Parental education has a relationship with student learning achievement with a degree of relationship of 0.47 which is classified as moderate. Parental income has a relationship with student learning achievement with a degree of relationship of 0.44 which is classified as moderate. Parental wealth has no relationship with student learning achievement. While the degree of relationship owned is 0.240 so it can be said to be weak.
