Abstract

This research is a development study aimed at producing a product in the form of basic chemistry teaching materials based on STEM Problem Based Learning on the periodic table of elements for chemistry education students that meet valid and practical criteria. The development was carried out using the ADDIE model. The product assessment process was modified using the Tessmer formative evaluation method, which includes expert review, one-to-one, and small group evaluations. The data collection process was conducted through questionnaire and walkthroughs. The results of the validity test at the expert review stage, analyzed using the Aiken V coefficient formula, show a score of 0.83 in the design aspect, 0.91 in the pedagogical aspect, and 0.94 in the material aspect. All three assessment results fall into the high validity category. The results of the practicality test at the one-to-one stage showed a score of 0.91 with a very high category, and at the small group stage, it showed a score of 0.94 with a very high category. Based on the evaluation results, it indicates that the research product has met the criteria of being valid and practical. The product of this research can also be considered by subsequent researchers for more in-depth testing regarding the effectiveness of the teaching materials.
