Abstract

This study aims to analyze the voltage value with the use of a flat mirror reflector equipped with a fan cooling system on the utilization of monocrystalline solar cells in generating electrical energy for a 12 Volt direct current (DC) water pump with a power of 180 Watt. Monocrystalline solar cells were chosen because of their high efficiency in the conversion of solar energy into electricity. In this study, a flat mirror reflector is used to increase the intensity of solar radiation received by the solar cell, while a fan cooling system serves to lower the operational temperature of the solar cell to maintain its conversion efficiency. The methodology used involves testing the solar cell system with a flat mirror reflector and the addition of a fan cooler as well as without a fan cooler. Data collected included solar cell voltage output, operational temperature, and water pump performance. The results showed that the use of a flat mirror reflector can increase the voltage output of the solar cell. Solar panels with reflectors with the addition of a cooling system produced the highest output compared to those without cooling is 21,9 v with a voltage value of 21.4 v. In addition, the fan cooling system proved to be effective in reducing the operational temperature of the solar cell, which has a positive impact on energy conversion efficiency. With the combination of these two technologies, the solar cell system is able to produce more optimal power for a 180 Watt 12 Volt DC water pump, improving the performance and reliability of the solar energy utilization system. The conclusion of this study is that the integration of flat mirror reflector and fan cooling system can improve the efficiency and performance of monocrystalline solar cell in practical applications, especially for direct current water pump. This finding is expected to contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable solar cell technology.
