Abstract

ABSTRACT: Transformer is an electrical machine that can transform electrical energy from one electrical circuit to another electrical circuit through magnetic coupling based on the principle of magnetic induction. In general, transformers are used to change electrical energy from one voltage level to another voltage level. This research aims to analyze the efficiency of the 60 MVA transformer at PT PLN Indonesia Power Unit Pembangkit Keramasan, Indralaya. Transformers are important components in electrical distribution systems, and their efficiency greatly influences overall performance. This study uses transformer loading data and analyzes the power losses that occur, both core losses and copper losses, as well as factors that influence efficiency. The method used in this research is the observation method which includes direct observation in the field, interviews with staff, and data recording. The conclusion from the activity is that the 60 MVA transformer at PT PLN Indonesia Power Unit Pembangkit Keramasan operates within the efficiency range in accordance with industry standards. However, there is potential for increased efficiency through better load management and routine maintenanc
