Abstract

Phonics Method Development Research Through Magic Boards to Stimulate Reading Ability of 5-6 Year Old Children in Ar Rahmah Kindergarten using the Rowntree model. This type of research includes the stages of planning, development, and evaluation, with Tesmer's formative research techniques (self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation and small group evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. To test the phonics method through the magic board, the results of the expert judgment validation of the media aspect obtained 90%, the material aspect 97%. Furthermore, the one two one evaluation testing stage was carried out with 3 children obtaining 92% and the small group evaluation followed by 9 children obtained 93% with an average practicality of 92% (very practical). The magic board media with the phonics method has several very important benefits for children. By using this media, children can improve their reading and writing skills. In addition, this media also helps children recognize the sounds of letters and words more easily, as well as develop their language, cognitive, and creativity skills. Thus, the magic board media with the phonics method makes the learning process more fun and interactive for children. Based on these results, the Magic Board based on the phonics method is declared very feasible and practical to support reading learning for children aged 5-6 years.
