Abstract

This study successfully designed and implemented an automatic door lock system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), integrating NodeMCU ESP8266 and MG996R servo motor as the locking mechanism. The system identifies users through registered RFID cards and automatically controls the door lock based on authentication results. Additionally, it records and manages user access data in real-time using Google Spreadsheet. Testing results indicate that the system has a high accuracy level in reading RFID cards, with an optimal range of 1–4 cm and a servo motor activation delay of 2 seconds. However, an average 8.2-second delay was observed in data logging to the database, influenced by internet connection stability and microcontroller processing load. Compared to conventional locking methods, this system enhances security, efficiency, and ease of access management.
