Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of energy that has existed for a long time with the existence of environmentally friendly renewable energy types being a solution to overcome the limited conventional energy crisis. Technological advances also support the use of solar energy by using PVsyst software to assist in simulating solar power plants as well as analysing the optimal angle of solar panel installation at the Electrical Engineering Department, Palembang Campus. The problems raised regarding the amount of energy produced by angle variations and the characteristics of solar panel angle variations on the value of electrical energy per month. The results of the simulation show that the optimal angle that can produce maximum electrical energy is an angle of 7° and 8° where the two angles produce annual energy of 14,583 kWh, then continues to decline to an angle of 90° which only produces 5,186 kWh for one year. As for the difference in maximum energy produced by angle variations each month where angles 0°up to 50° tend to produce maximum energy in August and minimum energy in December. While at an angle of 60°up to 90° tends to produce maximum energy in July and minimal energy in November. So that the use of the tilt angle can be influenced by the seasonal difference factor. Keywords: Renewable energy, PVsyst, Tilt angle.
