Abstract

Modern music center is a place for those who like music to express and hone their musical talents. In addition, the communal system is also implemented so that the social impacts will make this building more lively. Modern music center will be designed to fulfill several requirements such as, maximizing social activities, creating acoustic comfort, creating musical character, limiting noise factors, and applying organic architecture. In order to complete those requirements, the following solutions are implemented. First, the zone of social activity is made to appear in every level of buildings and outdoor. Second, acoustic materials are applied in certain rooms, such as studio rooms and performance rooms. Third, Concept octave in music being applied to become vertical zones concept and musical notes of the Que Sera Sera song used as its mass composition. Fourth, the site was designed forest-like as green as Kambang Iwak park to limit the noise of vehicles on the main road. Fifth, the mass composition created by the transformation of musical notes is re-transformed from a rigid form into an organic form.
