Abstract

This research aims to develop audio visual learning media using the Doratoon application in descriptive text material for class VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Prabumulih. This research uses research and development (R&D) research methods with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Ealuation) development research model, with a focus on the ADD stages, namely Analyze (analysis), Design (design), Development (development). Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, interviews with students and teachers and expert validation. Based on the results of needs analysis through distributing questionmaires, it shows that from 20 statements students chose Very Need (76%), Need (7%), Little Need (0%), and No Need (0%). The expert validation test was carried out by three experts, namely a language expert, a media expert and a material expert. The result of the language validation test obtained a score of 36(90%) indicating the use of appropriate and clear language, media validation a score of 34(85%) with a systematic design and attractive animation although several aspects stiil need improvement, then material validation a score of 36(90%) indicating the suitabilty of the material to the learning objectives. Overall, audio visual learning media using the Doratoon application for descriptive text material is stated to be very suitable for use and is expected to be an interesting, effective, innovative and interactive alternative learning media in supporting descriptive text learning in class VII SMP.
